Sabine Weiss a capturé des milliers de visages, de sourires, d’attitudes, toujours en quête d’émotions. Elle a immortalisé un Paris populaire désormais disparu, photographié de nombreux artistes, peintres, écrivains, fourni des milliers de photographies pour la mode, le reportage, la publicité. Pendant toute la seconde moitié du XXe siècle, son objectif s'est at- taché à celles et ceux qui restaient en marge : mendiants, vieillards, gitans... En France mais aussi dans le monde entier. Il en résulte aujourd’hui une œuvre monumentale, un travail photographique toujours engagé vers l'autre, témoin d’un profond amour de la vie.
